Rashmi Narsana has more than 15 years of experience in nonprofit management, with special focus on operations and revenue planning, capacity building, proposal development, and process and systems restructure and redesign for educational and social service organizations. Rashmi has worked with nonprofit organizations across the country with budget sizes ranging from $200,000 to $450 million.
Most recently, she was the Chief Operating Officer for Jobs for the Future (JFF), where she worked closely with the executive team and oversaw corporate functions with the goal of working together for the successful achievement of the organization’s operations and financial targets.
Prior to JFF, Rashmi served as the Senior Managing Director of Business Development for the Education Program at the American Institutes for Research (AIR). She oversaw the Business Development and Publications and Marketing units, which supported 650 plus staff members across different offices in the country. She was responsible for developing and implementing efficient systems and processes for successful submission of more than 400 proposals annually, worth over $400M from several funding sources (federal, state, foundation). Rashmi was part of the leadership team designing and implementing long-term programmatic and financial strategies, including business development, operational and financial goals, expanding communication and external relations services, building partnership strategies, and developing infrastructure and quality assurance processes.
Rashmi is currently VP Programming for the Association of Consultants to Nonprofits (ACN) and on the Board of Aavegh as the Marketing Director. She is an adjunct lecturer and teaches Nonprofit Management for graduate students at the University of Vermont. She has an M.S. in Applied Economics and Community Development from the University of Vermont and lives in Naperville, Illinois with her family.
